Sue Hill welcomes you to the Mizen and the small village of Goleen, West Cork near Ireland's most south-westerly point, Mizen Head. The Mizen Peninsula, West Cork, Ireland is very beautiful with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean from rugged rocky cliffs. Whales (every kind from these latitudes), Dolphins and Basking Sharks pass this coast and Mizen Head is a world class spot for whale and dolphin watching, especially in the summer and autumn (fall). Bird watchers, twitchers and bird lovers come to watch the annual migrations – a mile off the coast is an aerial superhighway! Unusual species are often blown off course by Atlantic storms and bird watchers flock to see them.

Ireland’s Mizen Peninsula has small interesting little villages and towns with individual small shops - a far cry from malls and shopping centres. The vibrant West Cork small communities take care of each other. Many people from all over the world have second homes and holiday houses here including well known international celebrities enjoying the special quiet West Cork anonymity that maintains all men are equals in God’s own country and allows them to live an ordinary life. There are soft sandy beaches, wonderful displays of wildflowers, changing through the seasons, Bronze Age monuments and hill walks. You have to see it for yourself!

The Heron’s Cove, West Cork, Ireland B&B has cosy, comfortable, warm rooms ensuite with sea view (some with balcony), television, DD Telephone, tea/coffee tray, hairdryer, electric blanket and mini-hifi on the edge of a small seawater cove 100 m from the village of Goleen.

Enchanting views of sea harbour, fast flowing stream and inland hills. The night sky is brilliant through large windows. The tide comes and goes (6 hours in and 6 hours out twice a day, each day an hour later)

Award winning á la carte West Cork Irish restaurant specialising in fresh fish, crab, scallops, steaks, lamb, duck, fresh vegetables, homemade desserts. Lobster in the summer. Our speciality is the fresh homemade flavoursome cooking that you would expect of a Restaurant in Ireland.
